Easing out of Lockdown?

Well, the pubs are open! That is a little bit of progress in what, hopefully, is the beginning of a return to normality though it may be some considerable time before we can resume our accustomed social lives. Even when we can, people will need to feel sure that it’s safe before they start to meet up in cafes, clubs and friends’ houses again. It is important for all of us, especially people with dementia and their carers who’ve been confined to their homes, for weeks without respite, that we begin to get out again and re-establish contact with our loved ones.
Perhaps the easiest way is to take advantage of some of the nice weather and visit a friend with a garden so you can sit outside, perhaps with a cup of tea and enjoy one another’s company for a while. This combines two factors that are important for health and well-being – social interaction and time in the fresh air.
Look after yourselves. The committee look forward to welcoming all their friends back to the Wednesday Group just as soon as it’s safe. If you’d like a chat about the Wednesday Group or the Carers’ Group please contact Jan on 01777 709974 or janwilliamson133@gmail.com.
