Dukeries Community Band

Are you looking for new challenges in 2023?  Do you have a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument at home that you are learning to play or haven’t played for some time? Would you like to improve your playing? Do you think you would enjoy playing with a band in a friendly, supportive environment?

If the answer to the above is ‘yes’, The Dukeries Community Band could be an ideal opportunity for you.

The group meets each Tuesday during term time at the Dukeries Academy, New Ollerton from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. It is open to all woodwind, brass and percussion players of any age as long as you are able to read music and are keen to play in concerts. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t played for a while, or have started to learn fairly recently – a willingness to participate and improve is key. The group’s ever-increasing repertoire features pop to classical with lots in between, so there is plenty to enjoy.

Band concerts support the local community and charities. They are always happy to hear from organisations who would like them to play.

Members are busy preparing for festive performances. You may see them around Ollerton, popping up at Sherwood Forest or even Creswell Crags during December.
