Thanks to a generous grant from Support Adoption For Pets, the local RSPCA Animal Centre can offer dog training and behavioural support, all year round, in all weathers. The new canopy completes a big investment in training facilities at the South Yorkshire Animal Centre, Bawtry.
Over the summer, the Doncaster, Rotherham and District RSPCA Branch held a very successful six-week training programme open to the public. Now sessions can be held rain or shine.
Support Adoption For Pets — a charity established by Pets at Home — has been very supportive of the work of the RSPCA Centre to rehabilitate dogs rescued from cruelty or neglect.
Laura Messenger, Grant Funding Coordinator at Support Adoption For Pets, said: “It is a real privilege to help an organisation that works so hard to care for and re-home pets in need. They are doing a superb job, and the effort the Rescue Centre puts in, is an inspiration.”
There are many ways to help the Animal Centre’s mission to rehome and rehabilitate animals. You can volunteer, donate cash or goods, sponsor an animal pen through Safe Haven and support events. There are charity shops at Bawtry, Rotherham, Rossington and Thorne and now an eBay shop. The Animal Centre has a pet shop on site for all your requirements, and provides a pet cremation service and a memorial garden for your beloved pets — find out more at www.rspcadoncasterrotherham.org.uk.
