Dial-a-Trip

Dial-a-Trip is a Community Car Scheme that has served the community for over 40 years, but now asks for some help to keep going with a growing client list.

Have you or someone you know any spare time you could give?

Volunteer drivers, using their own vehicles, help clients who have public transport or transport difficulties with getting to their GPs, hospital, dentist, chiropodist, appointments, as well as some social events. For this, you receive fuel re-imbursement on each trip.

There are no fixed trips. Volunteers will be offered a trip and, if they are available, the details for that trip will then be sent through. This includes collection point, plus details of where the client is going and what time they need to be there. There is a waiting time, at the end of which you will then take the client back to their home.

Volunteer drivers already with the scheme say they find it really interesting and rewarding.
The scheme does not operate on weekends or Bank Holidays.
