Dial-a-Trip Tuxford

by | 6 February 2023 | Local Charity, Retford

Dial-a-Trip is a social community car scheme that operates using volunteers covering Tuxford and the surrounding areas, not just in Bassetlaw but some parts of Newark and Sherwood districts.

It helps those who are unable to access public transport and don’t have any other alternative.

The scheme is now asking for your help.

  • Have you found yourself with some free time this year?
  • Would you like to help someone in your community with their medical appointments or social events?
  • Do you enjoy driving?
  • Do you like meeting new and interesting people?

Working with hours you have available, details of clients and where they are going will be sent to you. This will include the client’s pick-up details (usually their home), details of where they are going (eg GP appointment) and their arrival time. There is a waiting time, which is usually an hour. You will then take them back to their home. Fuel is reimbursed on each trip.

Volunteers already with the scheme say they find it really interesting and rewarding.

There are no weekend or Bank Holiday trips.
