Join Retford Library staff for coffee and a chat about your favourite or latest Crime or Mystery reads. Tickets £1.00 to include refreshments.

Dukeries Ukeries – Thursday 13th July, 6.00pm

Live music and fun from the fabulous Dukeries Ukeries Ukulele band. Tickets £5.00 to include refreshments. Booking essential.

Retford Library’s Summer Poetry Evening – Monday 7th August, 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Join Retford staff for a relaxing evening of poetry. Bring along a poem suitable for a summer’s evening, or just listen to others. Booking advisable. Tickets £2.50 to include refreshments.

Keep Calm and Carry Yarn – Thursday 13th and 27th July, 1.30pm to 3.00pm

Fortnightly sessions. Bring along your own craft project to work on and have a chat with others over coffee and biscuits. £1.00 to include refreshments.

Retford Library Writers’ Group – Thursday 6th and 20th July, 2.00pm to 4.00pm

Fortnightly sessions. Come along, listen and share. An informal friendly group with members at different stages of the writing process, including beginners.

Rattle Rhyme and Roll – Wednesdays and Fridays, 10.00am to 10.20am

Stories and rhymes for the under fives in the children’s library. Just turn up and join in the fun.

The Summer Reading Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge will take place over the summer holidays at Retford Library. Keep your children reading this summer with rewards and activities throughout.

Art Gallery

Visit Retford Library’s Gallery in July to see a stunning exhibition of paintings from the Sutton Art Group. All paintings are free to view and available to purchase.

Local Heritage

Retford Library has a fascinating local heritage collection and also offers free use of Ancestry and the British Newspaper Archive on library PCs.
