Retford Community Singers are holding another of their popular singing days on Saturday 27th April, from 10.00am to 3.30pm, in the Council Chamber, Retford Town Hall. This is open to anyone, both men and women, whatever your experience, and will be uplifting and fun. There is no need to read music as everything will be taught by ear and with a crowd there’s safety in numbers to enjoy rousing harmonies in all sorts of musical styles.

The day will be led by singer-songwriter Ali Bullivent, highly acclaimed leader of community choirs for more than 25 years and a singer ‘always’. She is full of inventive positive energy, currently Musical Director of a choir called ‘Cloud 9’ in Wakefield amongst many other musical commitments. She has composed songs for the National Coal Mining Museum, Wakefield, led singing events for Hull’s year as City of Culture and recently undertook a fun project with Yorkshire Wildlife Park, composing songs inspired by animals! Ali has a particular love of gospel and African music and has spent time working with communities and choirs in Zambia and Zimbabwe. Look at her website to find out more and hear samples of her recordings www.alibullivent.co.uk or follow her on Facebook or Twitter.

The cost is £12.00 (£8.00 for those on means tested benefits). To book please send cheques made out to Retford Community Singers to Bruce Barnett, 14 Cornwall Road, Retford DN22 6SH. Call 01777 704154 or 01777 704038 for more information.
