June marks the birthday celebration for Clarborough and District Women’s Institute, as members gather for a special lunch at the West Retford Hotel. This year commemorates 64 years since the group was founded, though it is not the oldest WI group in the area.
On Monday 14th July, the meeting will take place at Hayton Village Hall to accommodate larger numbers. The group will be welcoming members of their twin WI from Yorkshire. The guest speaker will be Joanne Underdown from Giddy Kipper Plants, who is expected to share a wealth of gardening tips and inspiration. Residents of Hayton who have considered visiting a WI meeting are warmly encouraged to attend this special event. A small fee of £5.00 will be charged, which includes a raffle ticket and refreshments. It’s an ideal opportunity to discover what the WI offers and enjoy a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
