Clarborough and District WI

Clarborough and District WI’s recent activities have had something of a historic feel, with a visit from the Baroness of Bolsover who entertained members with the inception of Afternoon Tea.

At the group meeting at the beginning of May, members met Bess of Hardwick who related her life story from farmer’s daughter to Duchess.

The ladies look forward to a busy summer programme starting on 10th June with their Birthday Meeting, when they will be crafting with Caroline.

The intended outing for a celebration lunch has been postponed until later in the year due to many members being away on holiday. July sees a visit to the group’s twin WI in East Yorkshire.

Clarborough and District WI meets on the second Monday of the month at the Village Hall in Clarborough. Meetings start at 2.00pm and visitors are always welcome; there is a charge of £5.00, which includes refreshments and a raffle.
