Last month saw Clarborough and District WI members enjoying a pleasing afternoon with the ‘Hat Lady’, Yvonne Henson who gave an entertaining talk on millinery. She described her training which was often done in lockdown after some years of doing millinery as a hobby.
All the hats Yvonne produces are made and stitched by hand. The use of blocks was explained and how to fit the fabric to the correct shape. After refreshments, Yvonne demonstrated how the most anti-hat wearer can find a hat to suit.
May is the group’s business month with Annual Meeting and Resolutions.
If you would like to join them, they meet on the second Monday of each month in Clarborough Village Hall at 2.00pm. A fee of £5.00 is charged which includes refreshments and a raffle ticket.
They are a small group of enthusiastic and friendly women and would love to meet you.
