February saw a couple of changes to Clarborough and District WI meetings, which are now taking place in the more suitable Halford Room at the Village Hall. There was also a last-minute change of speaker, due to illness, when Oliver Hill stepped forward at short notice and spoke about ‘Tax, Care and Toyboys’ – a very thought-provoking subject.
On Monday 17th April Amanda Harrison from Highways England will speak to the group.
The WI will be hosting afternoon tea in the Village Hall, Clarborough on Saturday 13th May in commemoration of the coronation of King Charles III. This is open to Senior Citizens resident in Clarborough, Hayton and Welham. Anyone interested in attending please contact Mrs L Baines (07967 191007) or Mrs G Bennett (07946 344870).
In addition to changing the meeting venue, the WI is also looking to change meeting time from evening to afternoon. They call upon members to attend the Annual Meeting on 8th May or contact a committee member to give their opinion.
