The month of June found Clarborough and District WI busy with preparations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, hosting an Afternoon Tea for nearly 70 senior citizens from Clarborough and the surrounding villages of Hayton and Welham.
The June meeting speaker changed through unforeseen circumstances; members heard an informative ‘Look into Fairtrade’ by Sarah Gauntlett.
July brings an outing to WI friends in Yorkshire, Hook WI, with whom the group formed a link some years ago and continue to exchange annual visits. The July meeting will take place on the 18th when members look forward to an entertaining evening with Tony Brewer and his musical quiz ‘Guess the Song’.
If you are interested in joining the WI, they always welcome new and familiar faces. The meeting starts at 7.30pm in the Village Hall at Clarborough. A fee of £5.00 applies to visitors but includes refreshments. They are a friendly group of ordinary women who enjoy each other’s company – you never know, you may enjoy it too!
