Christmas at The Hub

by | 15 December 2018 | Community facility, Community Focus, Retford

Visit Retford Hub to buy those last-minute Christmas presents! They can help make your Christmas special this year. Their shop is an ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ of around 1,500 unique gift ideas, all made by over 140 local people. Some favourite ideas this year include gin and tonic chopping boards, crayon lorries, bags, affordable original art and local pottery. It’s good to ‘shop local’, and with 70% of the money going to the artisan it helps our local economy — in fact, since opening, Retford Hub has returned £100,000 to local people.

But it’s not just the skills of the Hub’s crafts people; their artists are amazing and this month sees the newest exhibition by Shaun Clark of Whisper Hills Gallery. Why not drop by to enjoy a ‘meal deal’ from the café and sit in the art gallery — there’s nowhere else that can offer this art experience!

If you are having a party, order a whole cheese — Stichelton from Welbeck is a favourite. The Hub also has an interesting selection of biscuits to accompany the cheese. Or give a Christmas hamper as an extra-special gift! They start at £10.00.
