Children’s Bereavement Centre Daisy Remembrance Campaign

by | 4 October 2020 | Local Charity, Retford, Worksop

The Meadow of Memories continues to grow. Earlier this year, The Children’s Bereavement Centre launched their special Daisy Remembrance Campaign which involves asking the local community to support them by donating for a daisy in memory of their own loved ones.

By taking part you will be joining with others in remembrance as well as helping the Children’s Bereavement Centre support local three to 18-year olds who are experiencing life-changing trauma due to the death or terminal illness of someone they love. Thousands of children and their families benefit from a range of free services, such as one to one counselling, play therapy and peer support groups. It is the only charity of its kind in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire and without support these children would be left devastated by their loss.

You can get involved in a number of ways with free downloadable ‘daisy’ ideas or by dedicating a virtual or ornamental daisy in the charity’s special ‘Meadow of Memories’.

You can make a donation for your own ornamental metal daisy which will then be included as part of the ‘Meadow of Memories’ exhibit at an event in Newark Castle Grounds from 23rd to 25th October. It will be a special and unique event that will enable children and their families to sit alongside these special flowers for a moment of quiet reflection, remembrance and for some people the chance to say goodbye.

You will then be able to collect your daisy for you to keep and enjoy in your own home or give to someone special as the perfect gift. To make it even more personal, once you have collected your daisy the head can be removed so you can place your own message inside the stem.

You can also remember your loved ones in another special way by dedicating a daisy in the online ‘Meadow of Memories’ which is growing by the day and can be visited at any time.

“Our ‘Meadow of Memories’ Daisy Remembrance Campaign is a unique opportunity for children, young people and their families to come together to remember and celebrate the lives of those they love and have lost. We’ve got off to a great start but still your help to raise vital funds,” said Kate Baxter, Children’s Bereavement Centre Chief Executive.
The campaign is being proudly sponsored by Eden Hall Day Spa. To order your daisy please visit www.childrensbereavementcentre.co.uk/daisy-campaign or call 01636 600120 and ask for Rachel.
