Retford Business Forum (RBF) has successfully delivered the Retford Christmas Market and Lights Switch-On for the last five years. It has a great team of volunteers and partners that plan and deliver its events. Would you like to be part of this team?
It is a great chance to give something back to your community and learn about how events are planned and delivered, and meet new people working together to achieve a successful event.
On Tuesday 18th February, between 5.30pm and 8.00pm, members of the team will be at Spencer’s on the Square in Retford. This is an opportunity to discuss with them what roles are needed in planning and delivering the Forum’s events. If you would like to find out how you can help please go along and talk to members of the team. It is a very informal event, just go along when you can and have a chat.
This year’s Retford Christmas Market and Lights Switch-On will be held on Sunday 29th November — it will be a great day, please put the date in your calendar now. There will also be the VE Day celebrations on Friday 8th May, and later in the year, Heritage Open Day on 12th September, and the Pilgrims Festival events from 14th to 27th November.
Retford Business Forum is only able to deliver the Christmas Market through its volunteers and by the generous support of its partners, North Notts BID, Bassetlaw District Council and other local companies and community groups. Retford Business Forum is always looking forward to welcoming new volunteers, whatever level of support they can give.
Rick Brand, Chair of Retford Business Forum, said that 2020 will be another exciting year for Retford, and the surrounding villages. The Forum is in the early stages, working in partnership with Bassetlaw District Council, of establishing a Town Centre Neighbourhood Business Plan, and it is eager to hear from residents and business owners in Retford Town Centre who would like to help to deliver this.
New individuals, and businesses are welcome to attend the Forum. Meetings are held on the first Monday in each month (except bank holidays) at 5.30pm for 6.00pm, in the Council Chamber, Retford Town Hall. It relies entirely on its members and grants and is not regularly funded by any organisation.
