The 2019 Retford Christmas Market fair was able to produce £400 which Retford Business Forum (RBF) has presented to Bassetlaw Hospice, continuing RBF’s ongoing support. A cheque was presented to Debbie Rawlings, Bassetlaw Hospice Community Fundraising Co-ordinator, by the RBF Chair, Rick Brand, and members of the RBF Christmas Market team at the recent ‘meet the team’ event.
In February, members of the RBF Christmas Market team were at Spencer’s on the Square in Retford to provide an opportunity for people to discuss volunteering and what roles are needed in planning and delivering RBF’s events. Rick Brand was delighted to welcome members of Retford Lions, and the team is looking forward to working together with them in 2020.
RBF is very grateful for the efforts of its volunteers, and for the generous sponsorship and support of its partner, North Notts BID, as well as the help of Bassetlaw District Council and other local companies and community groups. RBF is always looking forward to working with new volunteers and supporters, whatever level of assistance they can give.
This year’s Retford Christmas Market and Lights Switch-on will be held on Sunday 29th November 2020.
RBF is currently in the early stages, working in partnership with Bassetlaw District Council, of developing a Town Centre Neighbourhood Business Plan, and it is eager to hear from residents, and those with interests in enterprises in Retford Town Centre, who would like to help.
Anyone interested in supporting Retford is welcome to attend RBF Meetings which are held on the first Monday in each month (except bank holidays) at 5.30pm for 6.00pm, in the Council Chamber, Retford Town Hall. It relies entirely on its members and grants and is not regularly funded by any organisation. If you would like to hear more about sponsorship opportunities and membership, please contact chair@retfordbusinessforum.org.uk.
