In May and June 2018 artists and makers from across Nottinghamshire invite you to visit their studios and events, with exhibitions also held at Retford Library, Arnold Library and Beeston Library. There is free entry to most events — a few make a small charge to help cover costs or for charity. Events local to us are:

Open studio of Cath Ray — who creates handmade notebooks using reclaimed materials alongside paintings of buildings, landscapes and figures. Simple have-a-go bookbinding activities will be on offer during opening hours.

Open Studio of linocut print artist Polly Warren — Linocuts designed, linoblocks cut and printed in a garage studio using a Hawthorn press. There will be demonstrations of linocut printmaking throughout the weekend.

SHERWOOD FOREST WOOD-FIRING SOCIETY
2nd and 3rd June, 9th and 10th June, 10.00am to 5.00pm
A group of potters coming together to explore wood firing and kiln building. Over the two weekends there will be firing and opening a wood firing kiln, Raku firing with visitors participating and a display of work.

270 year-old Dovecot where sculptors Hilary Cartmel and Michael Johnson have worked for over 25 years. The restored building is enjoying a new lease of life as a gallery and during Open Studios will be showing work by locally based painters, printmakers, potters and sculptors including Ann Robbins, Carol Eason, Emma Sumner, Hilary Cartmel, Jo Thorpe, Michael Johnson, Polly Warren, Ann Everitt and Penny Cawley.
