A charitable North Nottinghamshire family has helped to raise an incredible five figure sum for good causes across the region. Christine and Kelly Bloom hosted an annual summer ball at their home in Askham, near Retford, with a dinner, live music, singing waiters and a casino table entertaining guests until after midnight.
With the support of local businesses and the generosity of guests, who contributed to a raffle and auction, an amazing £35,155 was raised for research into Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, and for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Askham Village Hall, Askham Church and Milton Mausoleum.
Christine Bloom said: “The event could not have taken place without the generosity of local business people, a team of volunteers who helped to set up and run the event on the night, and the assistance of Emma Thompson and her team at Jones and Co Solicitors, who were our treasurers for the event.
“We would like to thank everyone who purchased tables and all sponsors for donating generous gifts for the auction and the raffle. We’re over the moon to have raised so much for causes close to our hearts.”
