On Tuesday 6th June, from 11.00am, 25 different charities and groups will be showcasing their volunteering opportunities at the Bassetlaw Volunteer Recruitment Event, which will take place at Worksop Town Hall.
Bassetlaw Community and Voluntary Service (BCVS) are organising the event in celebration of National Volunteers Week, which takes place every year from 1st to 7th June.
Everyone is welcome to attend and find out more about volunteering and how it can help you both physically and mentally. As well as being a great way to meet new people and stay active, volunteering is a great way to boost your CV, learn new skills and feel part of an amazing community of people.
Everyone that attends the event will also go into a free prize draw to be in with the chance of winning a £50 voucher of their choice, as a thank you for going along.
In addition to the event itself, there will also be an awards ceremony from 1.30pm to celebrate current volunteers in Bassetlaw, and all the amazing work they all do to help keep charities and groups running so that they can continue to help local people.
Without volunteers, most charities would not be able to do what they do and more support is always needed. Volunteering doesn’t have to be a big commitment – you could decide to just help at a one-off event, or just commit to one hour a week. If you enjoy it and want to do more, then there is always that option too.
Volunteering is fully flexible, very rewarding, and one of the most amazing things you will ever do – so join BCVS on Tuesday 6th June, from 11.00am, at Worksop Town Hall.
More information and a list of all the charities and groups attending can be found at www.bcvs.org.uk/volunteersweek.
