Markham Clinton Community Project (MCCP) are delighted that their artist, Derrick Spence, who teaches at their Art, Crafts and Knit and Natter group at church on a Wednesday morning was awarded a Bassetlaw Achiever’s Award in March.
Nominated by a number of people in the community, this was awarded in recognition of how generously he gives his time and shares his considerable knowledge and ability, as well as the time he gives, with his wife, Kath, rescuing and nurturing endangered hedgehogs.
Also, huge congratulations to Claudia Vickers who came second, out of 13 nominees, in the Bassetlaw North Notts Business Awards Women’s Awards’ Public Health and Wellbeing category. Claudia runs MCCP’s ‘Renew U’ classes and is an inspiration. Claudia was pipped to the post by a much bigger organisation and this is only her second year of trading.
Many congratulations to you both from everyone at the MCCP – the committee feel very fortunate to have such talented people helping them.
The Arts and Crafts group, which now incorporates Knit and Natter, goes from strength to strength! Members have produced some beautiful clothes for premature babies at Bassetlaw Hospital and the crafters are also hard at work, producing greetings cards.
