1 billion steps of hope for suicide awareness

In the 100 days leading up to World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September, the Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SoBS) charity has been asking everyone to contribute to a collective target of 1 billion steps #HopeInEveryStep

As a charity, their focus is on providing support to those bereaved in such a uniquely tragic way. Those left behind can experience stigma and by talking about suicide and normalising the conversation they are hoping to change this.

Members of the Bassetlaw bereavement group, along with friends, have been stepping out with hope and remembering loved ones, with some members on track to walk 1 million steps themselves. It’s not too late to join the campaign and have your steps count – see SoBS Facebook page for details or contact the Bassetlaw group – you don’t need to be a member.

If you are bereaved by suicide, however long ago, please join the group on the last Tuesday of each month. They meet in Retford at 6.30pm, please contact them for details via bassetlaw@uksobs.org or call 07398 422577.
