On Sunday 7th July, Eaton residents opened their gardens on a perfect warm afternoon. Over 250 adults and children enjoyed viewing the green lawns and with the roses blooming and many other flowers, vegetables and fruit attracting many compliments from the visitors.
The church was also open and there were displays showing the history of the church and the village. Refreshments were consumed by many people in one of the larger gardens and there was brisk trade on the preserves and plant stalls available in two other gardens.
Many thanks to all those people who attended this very successful event and to those who were involved in any way with the organisation of the event. The proceeds are to be distributed equally between the Eaton Church Community Development and Eaton Events.
