Having wrestled with our raspberry bed all morning, I am surely deserving of this sit down in front of my screen. I swear we have raspberry canes for Nottinghamshire!
The Dukeries Singers have no concerts in August, but the choir will visit Weston, near Sutton on Trent, on Saturday 16th September to deliver a concert in their church at 7.30pm.
The last choir practise for the summer term is on Wednesday 26th July and members return to rehearsal on Wednesday 30th August. Thereafter, we meet every Wednesday in the Concert Hall at the Dukeries Academy at 7.30pm until 9.15pm. This is best accessed via the leisure centre entrance and free car park.
This would be an excellent time to join this very friendly choir as we shall be beginning our preparations for our Christmas engagements and all members will be at square one. You are welcome to attend for one or two weeks to see if singing in a choir is for you. There are no auditions and there is no necessity to be able to read music. It is fun, friendly and satisfying to sing together to make a good sound.
If you would like to book the Dukeries Singers for your fundraising, celebration, charity event or just ‘a bit of a do’, please contact our Concert Secretary, Phil, on 01623 822070. He would be delighted to hear from you. For more information see www.thedukeriessingers.com and find the choir on Facebook and YouTube. Have a wonderful summer.
