Well we had the refreshing rain I hoped for last month, but moderation seems to be a disappearing aspect of our weather. The lawn is showing patches of green, but as my mother would have said: “the snails in the garden have been having a right birthday”. Lace curtains seems to be the new fashion in foliage.
August will be a rest and recuperation time for The Dukeries Singers. We finish our rehearsals on Wednesday 31st July and return refreshed and rarin’ to go on Wednesday 4th September. No doubt we shall be delving into our Christmas pieces. Christmas has a peculiar facility for lying in wait and then appearing like magic from around the corner. We are already taking bookings for Christmas concerts and carol sings, so if you would like to book the choir for your celebration, fundraising event or ‘bit of a do’ our secretary Pauline on 07951 609217, would be pleased to hear from you.
Our rehearsals take place every Wednesday evening from 7.30pm to 9.00pm, upstairs in the theatre’s refreshment area at the Dukeries Academy, Ollerton. This is best accessed via the leisure centre entrance and car park.
