There will be lots to see and lots to do in Retford on 7th May and St Swithun’s will be open to provide light refreshments throughout the day, from 10.00am to 3.30pm. There will also be an exhibition of the Retford Art Society’s paintings. So, why not drop in and enjoy a cuppa in the tranquil atmosphere of the church?
Lunchtime Organ Music
Monthly lunchtime organ recitals by professional organists have been organised by St Swithun’s Church in Cannon Square, starting on Thursday 17th May with freelance organist Addam Parrish.
Colin Walsh, from Lincoln Cathedral, will play on Thursday 21st June and you can hear Timothy Uglow, from Worksop College, on Thursday 19th July. There will be music from freelance organist Keith Morgan on Thursday 10th August and Paul Hale on Thursday 20th September.
All the recitals begin at 1.00pm and light lunches are available from 12.00pm. Admission is free but there will be a retiring collection to go to the Organ Fund.
