What’s on at Retford Library in July:

Retford Library’s Crime Café presents Summer Cinema
Tuesday 24th July, 2.00pm
A showing of “The Woman in Question” starring Dirk Bogarde. Tickets cost £1.00, to include popcorn. Booking is advised.

Retford Library’s Poetry Café presents Poetry for a Summer’s Evening
Thursday 26th July, 7.00pm
Share a poem on the theme of The Seaside or simply enjoy listening to others at our Summer Seaside Special! If you wish to have your chosen poem included in a booklet, please provide the title by 12th July. Booking is advised. Tickets cost £2.00, to include nibbles and a summer cocktail.

Summer Reading Challenge ‘Mischief Makers’
Launches on Saturday 14th July
Keep your children reading over the summer holidays with rewards and fun along the way.
Children can join the Reading Challenge at any time over the summer holidays and will receive rewards for reading at least six books. Just come along and sign up. Holiday craft sessions will also be held every Tuesday in August from 10.00am to 12.00pm.

Mischief Makers Fun Day – with Horrid Henry
Tuesday 31st July, 10.30am to 3.00pm
Celebrate some of the most mischievous characters from children’s books at our Mischief Makers Fun Day. Join in with craft activities and take part in the library joke hunt throughout the day, plus, say hello to Horrid Henry at our special mischief-making story sessions at 11.00am, 12.30pm and 2.00pm. This is a free event suitable for children aged four and over.
