The Lena Snowden Singers recently held a WWI Centenary Concert in aid of The Royal British Legion. A packed audience enjoyed and joined in with songs from the Great War, followed by the usual supper donated by the ladies of the choir.
A total of £500 was raised and Judy Kewarth (chairman of the choir) presented a cheque to Ann Hickman (secretary of the Retford branch of The Royal British Legion) with members of the choir at a recent practise night.
Due to outside commitments, the choir will not resume rehearsals until Thursday 21st February, when they would warmly welcome anyone interested in singing with a happy and friendly group of ladies. Just go along to Hallcroft Methodist Church on any Thursday at 7.30pm after that date.
