Dukeries Woodturning Society

Dukeries Woodturning Society’s AGM heard of the club’s great success in every way since moving to the Jubilee Hall in Ollerton. Their finances are looking stable and suggest that they can enter the year ahead anticipating an interesting and successful programme of demonstrators and opportunities.

They have just invested in a second projector and screen so that in future members will be able to see two different views of what is happening on the lathe at the same time. This is a real bonus as it means everyone gets a far better view even than standing beside the demonstrator, yet from the comfort of their seat.

It is a great time for anyone thinking of joining to go along and make the most of the annual membership of £15.00. This entitles you to enjoy the excellent professional demonstrators, many of whom come a considerable distance to share their skills with the club, and also quarterly ‘hands on’ nights when you can have a go on the club’s lathe. They welcome all ages and levels of experience for a free taster night, after which it costs just £5.00 a time.

Members hope to see you at the Jubilee Hall, Ollerton on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 7.00pm. In March, on 20th there is one of the club’s ‘hands-on’ evenings and on 27th they welcome Ray Jones to demonstrate.
