Coming up at Retford Library is:

Crime Café
Thursday 5th April, 2.00pm to 3.30pm
An afternoon of informal crime fiction chat with a few quizzes and games thrown in. The cost is £1.00 to include refreshments.

Poetry Café — Food and Drink
Monday 16th April, 2.00pm to 4.00pm
Join us for a relaxing afternoon of poetry. If you wish to share a poem on the theme of Food and Drink, please provide the title by 4th April for inclusion in a booklet. You are, of course, welcome to simply come along and listen. Booking is advised. The cost is £1.00 to include refreshments.

Rufford Poachers — a talk by Sam Millard
Thursday 19th April, 7.00pm
Explore our local heritage. Booking is essential and tickets cost £1.00. Contact Retford Library for more information.

Henry Normal — The Poetry Hour Tour
Thursday 26th April, 3.00pm to 4.00pm
Join the stand-up poet and TV writer (Royle Family, Mrs Merton Show), and his special guest, poet Andrew Graves for an hour of wise and witty words. Tickets are free, but booking is essential. Reserve your place at www.eventbrite.co.uk.

Philip Larkin
Thursday 3rd May, 7.00pm to 8.30pm
If you missed local literary enthusiast Rob White’s sell-out talk on Philip Larkin, you have another chance. Rob will be introducing us to twelve more Larkin poems, so even if you did catch the previous talk, you may wish to enhance your appreciation of Britain’s favourite poet of the post-war era. Booking is advisable. Tickets cost £2.00 and include a glass of wine.

Easter Craft Fun for Children
Wednesday 4th and 11th April, 10.30am
These are free drop-in sessions.

Writers’ Group
The Writers’ Group will meet on Thursday 12th and 26th April from 2.00pm to 4.00pm Come along, listen and share. For further information you can contact Kevin on 07903 654499 and kpm2@talktalk.net.

Craft and Coffee Club
The Craft and Coffee Club will meet on Wednesday 4th and 18th April from 1.30pm to 3.00pm. Bring along your project, swap ideas, patterns and materials over a coffee — the cost is 50p for refreshments.

Family History Group
The self-supporting Family History Group will meet on 9th and 23rd April from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. Library facilities, including the local studies rooms and free computer access to the Ancestry website are also available.

Local and Family History Drop-In Surgery
Need advice about family or local history? A local studies librarian will be on hand from 9.30am to 1.00pm on Thursday 19th April. This drop-in session is free and no booking is required.

Home Library Service
Retford Library has a team of Royal Voluntary Service volunteers who deliver a selection of library books to those who are housebound and cannot access the library. If you know someone who would benefit from this service, please let a member of the library staff know. Also, if you would like to volunteer to be part of this scheme, we would be happy to hear from you.

Rattle, Rhyme and Roll
Have fun with your little ones and meet other parents every Wednesday and Friday from 10.00am to 10.20am. There are songs, rhymes and musical instruments for babies and toddlers.
