Stage Seven — 8th September
Bassetlaw are thrilled to welcome back some of the world’s best cyclists for a second year as the race passes through some of our idyllic villages, the towns of Worksop and Retford and the much loved Clumber Park on Saturday 8th September. The world’s top professional cyclists are expected to arrive in Bassetlaw at just before 1.00pm, making their way through Tuxford, East Markham, Askham and Upton, before Sprint One in Retford at 1.13pm. Their route in Retford sees them ride on Great North Road and London Road before they use Arlington Way, Grove Street, Bridgegate and Hospital Road.
They will then head via Babworth, before Sprint Two in Worksop is expected at 1.32pm before the route passes through Clumber Park at 2.00pm. Families are invited to join in when the tour comes through Clumber. There will be a marked family friendly route for visitors to either cycle themselves or they can join in a led ride. Over lunchtime there will be cycling games and activities and lots of cycle silliness with a slow bicycle race and some penny farthings. Then mid-afternoon everyone will be invited to head over to Lime Tree Avenue or Clumber Lane to watch the tour pass through.
Full details of the route and times that the race is expected to be in our district can be found on the Bassetlaw District Council and Tour of Britain websites.
