Friends of Daneshill Lakes

by | 4 July 2018 | Community Event, Wildlife

Most of us are familiar with butterflies, but not so much with their close cousins, moths. In Britain and Ireland there are just over 50 species of butterfly, but there are more than 2,000 species of moth. To find out more about the secret and fascinating world of moths, the Friends of Daneshill Lakes have invited moth enthusiast Colin Watkin to their nature reserve at Torworth on Saturday 24th June to reveal all.

Join this free event any time between 11.00am to 1.00pm, and bring your family and friends along too, to discover their beautiful colours, how large some of our local moths are, and their clever ways of camouflage. If you think you won’t like them, give these wonderful, and important, creatures an opportunity to dispel your concerns. Hot drinks will be available.
