The Wednesday 4th July meeting of The Arts Society Dukeries will be held at the Civic Centre, Long Lane, Carlton-in-Lindrick S81 9AP, which is now the society’s new venue. In this jubilee year celebration of NADFAS (now The Arts Society), the theme of our meeting will be ‘gold’.

Emma Paragreen, from the Sheffield Assay Office, will be speaking on the history and purpose of the office and look at the four precious metals stamped. This will be followed by a jewellers’ fair, including a display of work by the starter programme for new graduates at the Yorkshire Artspace studios.

The society’s next meeting will be on Wednesday 3rd October, when the lecture will be by Amanda Herries on ‘Joan Eardley’.

Visitors are very welcome to come to meetings at a cost of £6.00 per lecture. There is a free car park at the centre. Doors open at 10.00am for coffee and tea, followed by the lecture at 11.00am. For further details of our lecture programme and about the society, please speak to Anthony on 01909 731415 or Gill on 01909 540506 or see www.theartssociety.org/dukeries.
