The exciting news for Retford, is that Britain’s Got Talent finalists Shannon and Peter Parker, are once again performing in The Staples Dance Academy annual show, on Sunday 31st March at 5.00pm at the Majestic Theatre, Retford.
It’s going to be an amazing show designed to highlight the professional quality of dancing that the academy produces, with choreography from past pupils who have gone on to perform in the West End and in national and international tours.
Act 1 is full of incredible group numbers showcasing the school’s excellence in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, lyrical dance and musical theatre.
Act 2 is dedicated to the premiere production of a musical written specially for Staples Dance Academy by local brothers Barry and Dave Upton, based on the story Rumpelstiltskin, Spin!
Author Barry Upton says: “The opportunity to work with the talented staff and performers from the Dawn Staples Academy was too good to miss. It was a chance to work with the Dance Academy again after a break of over 25 years.”
