The North Notts Lions are a local branch of Lions International which is a world-wide club. Around the world the Lions are dedicated to helping those in need. As a local branch, North Notts collect monies to help local charities and also members of our community who may need help, for example contributing or, in some cases, providing a child with much needed medical equipment, helping play groups and schools with equipment, taking a local DARE project, which is aimed at drug awareness, into schools. The branch also has a CD for viewing which explains the work it does with SIGHT — part of this is collecting old spectacles for recycling.
All the money collected is used for the good of our community. Money needed for the running of the group is raised by holding a variety of social functions to raise money solely for administration purposes.
Well, that is a little about the group, they would now like you to consider joining them as they need new members — young, old, male, female is does not matter, just a willingness to help with Lions work. The North Notts Lions have been running for 50 years this year and it would be a wonderful time to welcome new members to the club.
