On 6th May Bassetlaw Cardiac Support Group members, along with their friends from the Bassetlaw branch of Parkinson’s UK, enjoyed a trip to The Majestic Theatre in Retford for Retford Amateur Operatic Society’s production of Oliver. It was a superb performance and it is always a delight to see children working with adults, all giving the performance of their lives.
At the group’s meeting on 2nd June at The Crossing, we welcomed two new members. Mike Ogden made a welcome return to talk to members about plants of the desert. As usual, Mike gave an excellent talk. He has so much knowledge about a great deal of subjects. I did not know that there was so much to learn about succulents, cacti etc. I even learned how to take cuttings from my enormous ‘money tree’ plant — unfortunately it never blossoms!
The group’s next meeting is on 7th July, at Retford Hospital, from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, when Rodger Glew will talk about George Formby. Please join group members for either a ‘one-off’ visit or membership. All are welcome.
