Looking for something to keep the children entertained during the school holidays? Why not dust off a pack of cards? Learning a variety of card games is a great way to keep children – and adults – entertained, especially on rainy days, while taking a break from screens.
A free card-playing session will be held at Retford Library on Wednesday 12th August from 10.00am to 12.00pm. There will be a wide range of card games for all ages and abilities.
Ever wondered what happens in Whist or Bridge? This is the perfect opportunity to find out. Some of the country’s best Bridge players are teenagers, many of whom first learned the game from grandparents or at school.
One participant at a previous session commented: “Really good one-and-a-half hours. The grandchildren (7 and 9) really enjoyed it and learned a lot.”
Everyone is welcome, from age five to over 100 – and there’s no need to bring a child to take part.
