Burlesque is a local group that put Retford on national radio in the 1980s when they won Radio 1’s Rock War competition. Their own recordings were played on the Tommy Vance show, and they appeared alongside many well-known groups of the era.
Despite changes in the line-up over the years, the band is still fronted by Gee. At their upcoming concert in Hayton, they will be performing as a duo.
They describe themselves as a classic rock duo, performing music by artists such as Foreigner, Aerosmith, Genesis, Fleetwood Mac and Toto – no heavy metal.
The concert takes place at Hayton Village Hall, DN22 9LD, on Saturday 28th March at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £12.50. Please bring your own drinks and nibbles.
