The bowling season is now entering its final stages and this is where the majority of the leagues and trophies are decided. Retford Bowling Green are proud that their Mixed Triples Team has won the Marie Denny Nottinghamshire County Mixed Triples Title. With this win, the team automatically qualify as the Nottinghamshire representatives in the EBF National Finals in Skegness.
The club has also recently held a Bowls England Top Club regional final with York Railway Bowls and Social Club from Yorkshire and Royal Mail Cart from Lincolnshire travelling to Retford to play this match. It was a great honour for the club to be asked to host a match of this stature and congratulations to York Railway who won 3-2 and now progress to the last 16 nationally.
Within the club, they recently held the latest of their major internal competitions, the CCCCC event sponsored by Carol Norman. This is a fun event where players swap teams throughout the day, but keep individual scores. The winner for the day was Jane Barlow and runner up and highest scoring gent was Clive Hancock.
