September at Retford Arts Hub promises a month filled with activities and a new exhibition in the Upstairs Gallery.
Heritage Day on Saturday 13th September is an annual town event offering the chance to explore what makes Retford special. This year’s theme is architecture, with some fascinating work on display. The exhibition on the same theme runs from Monday 1st September to Friday 3rd October.
A variety of workshops will take place throughout the month. On Thursday 4th September, John Redfern Harris will lead a watercolour workshop, followed by an oil painting workshop on Thursday 11th September. Both run for three hours, cost £25.00 each, and include all materials.
A free crochet taster session, funded by the UK Government through Bassetlaw District Council, will be held on Saturday 13th September. On Saturday 27th September, a four-week crochet course will begin, running from 1.30pm to 3.30pm at a cost of £45.00.
More free sessions are planned, including sewing machine skills, photography and willow weaving. On Monday 29th September, Melanie Eldred will host a glass window mosaic workshop costing £28.00, including materials.
Studios are available to rent at the Hub. Those interested can contact the Hub for details or call in for a chat with a volunteer.
