The bowling season is now in full swing, and Retford Bowling Green recently hosted the Mixed Triples competition, sponsored by JG Catering. After a full day of competitive play, one team emerged as the only side to win all three of their matches. That team – Sue Bradford, Richard Jenkins and Joan Mather – were named the runners-up. True to tradition at Retford Bowling Green, a final was held regardless of points. The eventual winners had reached the final by winning two games and drawing the third.
In the final, the winning team made a strong start and held their lead to the end. Congratulations go to Chris Cooper, Mandy Cooper and Mary Stanner on their well-earned victory. The club was recently honoured to be selected as the host venue for the prestigious Nottinghamshire vs Yorkshire county match. The event was a great success, with both visiting teams complimenting the quality of the green and the excellent club facilities.
Retford Bowling Green is also proud to announce that two of its teams have qualified to compete in the Nottinghamshire EBF County Finals. The club wishes the Mixed Triples and Mixed Pairs teams the very best of luck in the upcoming matches.
