Rossington Hall RDA (Riding for the Disabled) enables children and adults with physical, sensory and learning difficulties to enjoy riding and horse-related activities for therapy, achievement and fun. It is a small, friendly group based near Bawtry.
Volunteer helpers
The group is currently looking for volunteers to support qualified coaches. Duties include catching horses, grooming, tacking up, leading and side-walking in riding sessions. Hours are flexible, but a regular commitment is essential as sessions depend on volunteers to run smoothly. Riding and horse care sessions take place during the day from Monday to Friday and in the evenings from Monday to Thursday, with times varying during school holidays. Hippotherapy sessions are held on Saturdays.
Volunteers for field management
Tasks include poo picking, filling hay nets, ragworting, and checking and refilling water troughs. Help is mostly needed during morning hours, and days and times can be flexible.
Volunteers are welcome to take on both roles or just one. While experience with horses is helpful, it is not required as full training will be provided.
Please note that volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.
