‘East Markham church – ‘the Cathedral of the Trent Valley’ (John Betjeman) will be the venue for a summer concert on Saturday 12th July in aid of church funds.
It is being given by the Eakring Singers and will provide a wonderful celebration of local musical talent of high quality in the lovely setting of St John the Baptist church, East Markham.
The Eakring Singers, was founded in 2012 by their musical director and mezzo soprano Sarah Walster, joined by baritone Jonathan Price and soprano Emma Ward. The choir includes some the most talented young singers in the local area.
The programme will include a wide variety of classical and modern choral and solo pieces ranging from Delibe’s well-known duet Lakme, through the Maori song Pokare Ana, to Elton John’s ‘I’m Still Standing’.
Tickets will include wine, soft drinks and canapes during the interval and guests will be invited to take part in the Super Summer Raffle in aid of the church to be drawn before the finale.
Tickets cost £15.00 (children under 13 £10.00) and are available from eastmarkhampcc@gmail.com, or in person at the Coffee Shop every Friday from 10.00am to 12.00pm in the church.
