For many students, the final year of university is a whirlwind of deadlines and late-night cramming, but Retford’s Kelsey Tomlinson had bigger plans. Teaming up with local band Stone Black Witches, Kelsey directed ‘You’re My Scene’, a high-energy music video that blurs the line between reality and performance.
Shot on Wednesday 26th March at Kelham Studio in Sheffield, the video immerses viewers in the heart of a wild house party – though nothing is quite as it seems. With 20 people on set, including the four band members, eight extras, and a tight-knit crew, Kelsey orchestrated controlled chaos, capturing the wild energy and spirit of the scene.
A successful crowdfunder made the project possible, with friends, family, and locals all contributing to help make Kelsey’s vision a reality.
The collaboration with Stone Black Witches wasn’t just a creative endeavour – it was a launchpad. With You’re My Scene set to premiere on YouTube on Thursday 25th April at 7.00pm, the video marks the beginning of Kelsey’s journey into the industry.
A music video is more than just visuals – it’s storytelling, atmosphere, and emotion. And for Kelsey Tomlinson, it’s also the perfect send-off into the world of directing, video, and photography.
