Clarborough and District WI’s first meeting of the year was very well attended, with an almost full complement of members and four visitors. It is hoped they were not disappointed, as a wonderful afternoon was spent in the company of Reverend Mark Cantrill, who shared his fascinating hobby of shirt making.
Reverend Cantrill explained that he began making shirts because he could not find clerical collar-friendly options in colours other than black. Many of his shirts hold special memories of places he has visited. He also spoke about his early life, his journey into the church, and his ordination.
February’s meeting welcomed Lesley Taylor, who spoke on Talking Rubbish, while on Monday 10th March, Ralf Scheinem will make a return visit to discuss Tunnel 57.
Meetings take place at 2.00pm in Clarborough Village Hall, with an entry fee of £5.00, which includes a raffle ticket and refreshments. New visitors are always welcome.
