Retford Art Society has several key events this month, including the AGM and an exciting new workshop.
The AGM will be held at St Saviour’s Community Centre on Thursday 6th March at 6.30pm. Refreshments will be provided.
The Spring Exhibition opens on Saturday 26th April. To exhibit a piece, individuals must be members of the Society. Membership costs £35.00. To request a membership form, email retfordartsociety@yahoo.co.uk.
This month’s workshop, led by Heather Burton, will explore using a palette knife with acrylic or oil paints to create portraits. It will take place at St Saviour’s Community Centre on Saturday 29th March, from 10.00am to 3.00pm. The cost is £25.00 for members and £30.00 for non-members.
Life drawing sessions continue at the Swan Studio from 7.00pm to 9.00pm on Wednesday 12th and 26th March. Due to rising costs, fees have increased to £7.00 for members and £10.00 for non-members.
The Swan Studio is open to all on Tuesday evenings from 7.00pm to 9.00pm and Friday afternoons from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. There is no charge, and non-members can expect a warm welcome and encouragement. The studio is located at the bottom of Carolgate, underneath the arch and above the bike shop.
