Retford Art Society is saddened to announce the passing of Val Moore, the Society’s president. Val was a keen painter and craftswoman and a founder member of the Society, which has thrived since its establishment in the 1960s. The Society extends its thoughts and best wishes to Val’s family at this difficult time.
The first demonstration of the year will take place on Thursday 27th February at 7.00pm, focusing on the art of silk painting, a new and intriguing topic for the Society. This event will be held in The Swan Studio and is open to non-members at a cost of £7.00.
Life drawing sessions will resume on Wednesday 12th February and continue fortnightly, with the next session scheduled for Wednesday 26th February. These sessions will be held in The Swan Studio from 7.00pm to 9.00pm. The studio is located at the bottom of Carolgate, under the archway and above the bike shop.
Plans are underway for this year’s programme, including demonstrations, workshops, and potential trips to art venues. Membership provides opportunities to showcase artwork in exhibitions and participate in various activities. The annual subscription is £30.00, and new members are warmly welcomed.
