Markham Clinton Community Project

The Remembrance Service organised by Markham Clinton Community Project (MCCP) was very well supported. Thanks to Harvey Gillan and his dad, who brought a vehicle from WWII, Winifred, together with WWII memorabilia, including army uniforms, prayer cards, a silk map (these were stitched into Officers’ uniforms in case they were captured). Thanks too to Rosie Hunt for all her fascinating research into the war records and local war heroes, their story continues thanks to her. Huge thank you also to the knit and knitter group, art group and Derrick Spence and Judith Osborne for all the fantastic poppies adorning the church. It looked incredible.

MCCP also enjoyed a fabulous music night at All Saints Church at the end of November. It was well-attended and the audience were entertained by the beautiful Stacey Lynn. She performed a range of numbers. Stacey will be back on Friday 28th February for those who might have missed her. Stacey is also going to sing at MCCP’s 2025 Remembrance service and at a special WWII lunch event.

Watch out for these events. MCCP already have lots of activities planned for January 2025 onwards. For more information find the group on Facebook or visit www.mccproject.co.uk.
