In September Clarborough and District WI had a change of speaker and, instead of Ralf Scheinem, members of the Notts and Lincs Air Ambulance visited to tell them about their incredibly interesting and vital work. It was explained that the helicopters are hired and come with a qualified pilot, however all the other staff are voluntary and medical staff from far and wide, even from Europe come to give their assistance. Many of the doctors are surgeons and facilities exist on the helicopter to perform emergency procedures which are vital for the speed of saving life.
In October the group hosted a Bring and Buy sale and Harvest-related refreshments, whilst their November meeting – scheduled for the 11th – will be a talk on the Rockies in Western Canada.
Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month and start at 2.00pm in the Village Hall in Clarborough. Visitors are always welcome and a fee of £5.00 is charged, which includes refreshments and a raffle ticket. Why not pop along and check them out? They are a small group of friendly ladies and would love to meet you. You can find out more from Lucy Richardson on 07966 452249.
