In September, another joyous Baptism was celebrated in the beautiful church at West Markham. The community is looking forward to welcoming one of the village’s children with a party and naming celebration. The quiz night continues to be a popular event, with 40 attendees at the last one, and there are many exciting activities planned for November.

- Arts & Crafts, Wednesdays, 10.30am to 12.30pm. £8.00pp. Now incorporates Knit and Natter, knitting clothes for premature babies born at Bassetlaw Hospital.
- History Talk – ‘New Beginnings’, Friday 1st November, 7.00pm.
- Music Night with Stacey Lynn, Friday 29th November, 7.00pm.
- Quiz Night, Friday 22nd November, 7.00pm. Cheeseboard provided; bring your own alcohol. £2.00pp, plus raffle. Book early!
- Cuppa & Cake, Saturday 16th November, 10.30am to 12.30pm. Free entry plus raffle.

Many group events are free of charge or subsidised by MCCP, together with support from Bassetlaw District Council.
Donations of raffle prizes and cakes are always gratefully received, as would be volunteers to read at Sunday services.
Art Group
Since they began a year ago, the progress and quality of the group’s work has been amazing. They are a group of ‘do your own thing’ budding artists under the gentle guidance of resident artist Derrick. If you missed their exhibition at the church at the end of October, go along for a free taster session on a Wednesday morning. Beginners and more experienced artists are always welcome. Art materials are provided and as much coffee and cake as you can manage.
