Celebrate National Poetry Day with the staff at Retford Library. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon of poetry. Bring along a poem on the theme of Counting, as well as a favourite poem to share, or simply join to listen. Booking is advisable. Tickets are £1.00, including refreshments.

Pride in Our Place Photography Workshop
Saturday 12th October, 10.00am to 12.00pm
Take part in this hands-on workshop led by photographer Neil Pledger. The two-hour session will introduce participants to photo composition techniques, specifically tailored to heritage and place photography. Explore Inspire’s Picture Archive and learn how to record your local area for future generations. Please bring your own camera or phone. Suitable for children aged 7+ and families. All children must be accompanied by an adult. This is a free workshop, but booking is required at www.inspireculture.org.uk.
I Am an Artist – Free Art Workshop with Deborah Frith!
Wednesday 23rd October, 10.00am to 12.00pm
Work with sculptor Deborah Frith and explore the question ‘Where is your favourite place?’ Debs will provide pre-rolled clay slabs for participants to mould into a representation of their special place. These mini-buildings will be glazed, fired, and turned into a vase! No prior art experience is required. Once your sculptures are finished, they can be collected from the library at a later date. Suitable for families and children aged 7+. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Booking is advised at www.eventbrite.com.
I Scream at the Seaside – Martin Jones Presents a Talk for Halloween
